Syrien N’est Fait 2018

SYRIEN N'EST FAIT

2018 EDITION

Syrien N’est Fait is back for its third edition with even more artists, events, activities and partner associations. Dedicated to Syrian art, the festival will take place in Les Grands Voisins, Paris (14e arrondissement), from August 1st to the August 5th.

For this year’s edition, artists and civil society actors participating in the festival will explore a new theme : Body and Liberty. Among the highlights, an evening will focus on the question of women empowerment during the conflict through two conferences, including one with female journalists calling in live from Syria. The question of political prisoners will also be at the heart of the exhibitions, and discussed during a talk entitled “Art facing dictatorship”.

As during the previous editions, the festival is multidisciplinary : exhibitions Carte Blanche to Syrian artists in exil, documentary photo and video, concerts, DJ sets, virtual reality, conferences and debates, debké workshop and Syrian food. This year, the public will discover a new enriched programme. Danse, sculpture, open air cinema, cooking and serigraphy workshop are among the new activities. Syrien N’est Fait continues its support to the young Syrian musical scene and invites two representatives of the new Syrian electro scene in Europe.
