ASML/Syria played an integral part of the creation of Hawa SMART in January 2014, an independent Syrian radio station run by Syrians both in Turkey and inside Syria.
Programs are broadcast over FM nationally (Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Idleb, Lattakia, Deir Ez Zor), by satellite, and online.
The station works to strengthen freedom of expression in the country, to provide reliable information to the Syrian population, as well as to improve daily life through the provision of public service information. The station also aims to prepare the country for the future and reduce separation between estranged Syrian in order to pave the way for future reconciliation
